Cattle were rigidly classified according to their use, origin and physical characteristics.
As such the heavy and fat bull from the delta was called "ioma".
The dry and aggressive bull living in half wild herds was called "nagé".

Today, the Senegalese designate a bull by calling it "nag", the Guineans "nigé", the Mossi "niga" and the Foulbe "nagge".
