Beautiful example of the sculpture of the high plateaus of Madagascar.

This very ancient door is entirely sculpted. The patterns reproduced are , the central circle representing the house or the village, encircled by domestic animals, or the Malgache fauna.

The exterior also sculpted, carries important traces of erosion due to water. The interior is particularly black from smoke, due to wood fires, constantly operational in the interior of the traditional Malgache homes.

The interior side of the door has the appearance of a lock partially blocked, which would have permitted one to close the door.
