BABOON SKULL, WOVEN STRAW, NATURAL RESIN This genius of nature, also called "nkisi Tsi", comes from the region of Mayombe, a mountainous forest in southern Congo. It represents the spirit of the ancestors, who first delimited and occupied the territory of the clan. It is composed of a baboon skull encassed in a ball of woven straw. The interior of this sphere, encloses a small bone or stone, which serves probably to reinforce the magical charge. Some of these fetishs can also be made with a gorilla skull. In general, they are of Vili origin.
