Head-rests are mainly used by the populations of nilotic origins, with a semi nomadic way of life and strong pastoral traditions. The head-rest, indispensable instrument and object of prestige, must be light and small to facilitate its transport. This head-rest of Karamajong origins, is sculpted in a fibrous and extremly light wood. The holes on the two vertical sides, enable, with the use of strings, to carry it tied to the belt or arms.
